I am happy with my Cox service. No notable downtime in the 5 years that I've been with them. Since Directv (I have Directv for my TV service and love it) and ATT are now one I was looking at possibly going to a bundle with Uverse internet. They quoted me $40/mo for 18 MBPS. I am paying Cox $77.99/mo now. I can't recall what my advertised download speed with Cox is as they seem to have changed package names around and my package is no longer listed on their website.

This would save me about $456/yr. However it is not worth it to me if the service will suck. We do a good bit of streaming and we could have 3 people streaming at one time.

I just ran this speed test. I was on wi-fi sitting about 8 feet from my router when I did it.

I did not like my six months with Uverse at all, but that was when they were new.

This is my speed test and I'm 20' from router on a different floor and through three walls.

I get much faster on the desktop that is wired in. I pay $62.99 a month.

UVerse internet is garbage.

My parent's paid for 18 Mb/s and averaged 2-4 Mb/s, despite calling AT&T 4 times regarding the speed.

Wow, Cox is really ripping into you down there. I pay ~$40/month for Time Warner Standard service and I get better than 60/6 through WiFi. (I haven't plugged in to check what I get direct because it doesn't really matter to me)

This is down a floor from where my router is located (ASUS RT-N66U).

I live in Dallas and had no issues with the 18meg U-verse. I would use chrome cast to stream movies from my plex server, netflix, ect.

The only issue I ever had was with MLB At Bat. I would be casting from my phone (on wifi) to the chrome cast and it would buffer multiple times a game. I think this might be more of the MLB app problem though. I would get 16-17 megs down speed test via wifi on my phone or a strong 18 megs wired on my desktop.
