I do some light hunting/fishing video editing and I'm looking to replace my old iMac (~2009)

I'm considering this HP Envy x360 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive

Anyone use it or have any reviews/suggestions?

Should I just go with a MacBook?

Light video editing? What software do you plan to use? May want to check requirements and recommendationts of that? Seems any mid-tier PC would he fine.

If you're familiar with imovie and are comfortable with how things work for you now, I'd just buy a new Mac.

I bought a Windows PC with the same specs (except I have an SSD) you quoted but that is in an enterprise environment running Adobe Creative Cloud

The specs you listed are a little bit of overkill if you aren't a heavy video guy

If you run a more substantial program than iMovie, the specs and the costs go up. You will need a separate HD just to hold your video. Putting the video on the same drive as your operating system slows things down. Using a SSD is a big plus. Buy as much RAM as you can cram into your machine- at LEAST 16 GB. 32 GB is prime. Dual monitors really help, and an HDMI output on the video board allows you to see your work output on a real monitor. All added costs.

I have 4 PCs, 2 laptops, and a Macbook Pro. I've run Adobe Premiere on both PC and Mac, Final Cut on Mac, and Wondershare Filmora on both and honestly even my best PC can't run those apps as smoothly as Mac. I'd personally stay with Mac. Btw, I first started editing using an Android app called Kinemaster that is an awesome app. Its full of features and sometimes I even favor it to any of my computers. It does cost $5.99/month to get all the full features, but luckily I have a cracked version thats free that you'd never know the difference between. You can find it HERE
