I have Cox for TV and Internet and we pay $180 a month for our services. $140 for TV and $40 for internet. THe internet is pretty slow.

We are looking to switch providers for both TV and Internet since CST won't be needed. We are thinking about doing with Direct for TV but don't know about internet.

Who is do you have and how much do you pay a month? What kind of speeds are you getting?

Look up your U-Verse speeds in your location

They have the SEC Network currently with their TV deal

Yeah, I have had very few complaints with Cox. Nationally, they are the least-bad of all the big providers as far as customer satisfaction.

I run speed tests all the time, at several addresses (most of which are quite "rural", though), and the tested speed is always very near what is paid for. When I have had problems with speed, they have typically been pretty prompt in getting the problem fixed.

If you aren't getting close to the speed you are paying for, let them know and I'm more than sure they will fix it. I am also more than sure that Cox will have higher speeds at lower prices than Uverse.

yeah, but unless he's doing a lot of streaming, 5M isn't slow by many measures

You are probably getting that from the fact that I am strongly in favor of net neutrality. As far as I know, Cox isn't pushing as hard for "fast lanes", hard data caps, etc. as Comcast, Time Warner, etc. are.

Now, I do hate how much they charge for TV, but as an ISP they aren't half bad in my experience.

I don't do a lot of streaming and we have a regular wireless router. We only have laptops and our phones so we connect to everything wirelessly.
