My aunt lives in Europe and can't use WatchESPN there to watch College Football. She's severely technologically challeneged, but I think I can teach her how to use KODI (The Beast) to access live football. I just think that she might run into issues finding the right app and channel to use so there is another option I think.

The other option would be to change the DNS on the Firestick. Would this allow her to run WatchESPN on her stick? Is this something I can do from here and give it to her and it's plug and play (aside from the simple wifi network password entry?

VPN is your friend in this scenario.

Does that involve setting something up on the router?

I have to set it all up for her here then just send it and plug and play.

Kodi will work. But to use WatchEspn or other official amazon apps such as netflix, you need a VPN. A VPN usually costs about $8-$10 per month but there are some decent free ones out there. Maybe someone else can recommend one. Usually, once you sign up, you download a little app/ program and click on that to connect to the VPN service.

Hola Better Internet - google it

Have used it in US to watch German TV and vice versa, not a joke.

Great for netflix too bc you can access different movies offered in different countries/languages.

Just be aware your ISP connection is being used by other anonymous Hola users and anything illegal they might do could be traced back to you. Hola also sells your ISP connection bandwidth to most anyone to use as they wish.

I use ExpressVPN on my computer in Afghanistan so I can watch Netflix, Amazon Prime videos, etc.. It put an app on my PC that I click on and then choose what country I want to VPN through. They also have apps for android and iOS and you do not have to pay separately for them. They are included in the subscription price. You can pay by the year or by the month.

ETA: If you have a router that has the capability built in you can set up a VPN on your router and have her Firestick VPN to your network in the states. I have a buddy that does this. He VPN's into his router at home back in the states to use Netflix, etc...

Hi there !

Sorry to bother you but it's been a very long time I wanted to find a solution to watch American TV (the free channels everyone gets) from Switzerland where I live. Has you relative been able to watch ESPN with the Amazon firestick and KODI?

Like before, you most likely need a VPN as the EU has really started cracking down on illegal streaming. Its more on the host/provider end but its also done through your ISP. So if it looks as though you are in the US and they can't tell if you are on an ISP that they have an agreement to block with, then you should be good. Once you have a VPN you can either get a friend's or parent's US cable login info, get the watchespn app and use that login info to activate watchespn. The other option is to subscribe to an IPTV provider such as Fabiptv (which I use but they just got their service back online after a hacking incident that crippled the service)or FlawlessIPTV. You have to pay about $10/ month for these services but you get all US and UK cable channels as well as MLB, NFL network, Movies....a lot of stuff. The US channel section has ABC, CBS, NBC but they are from some random city....you get all the network brodcasts that show on that random city.
