Calling Network Gurus: MoCA LAN and inbound Internet

I'm about to move into my first long term home and while it is being built after purchase, it's not being built to order so I can't get quite as customized of a power user setup as I would like.
But what I do have is coax between the two highest trafficked nodes on the network, with it being easy to drop my own cable to have the three top nodes having a high throughput, low interference hardwired network freeing up the bandwidth on the 802.11ac network for all remaining nodes.
My question is this: what problems are there with compatability between the MoCA 2.0 signal and the inbound Internet signal? I'm seeing it being argued both ways.
Can I split the cable coming out of the wall, and have one going to the modem and the other going to the coax-Ethernet adaptor?
If it matters, I'm looking at charter and AT&T (up to 1 gigabit/sec Uverse) as my internet options.
