Brush wall plates vs plug in for component wires

Installing TV above fireplace, running Dish box and DVD player from shelving off to the side.
Fireplace only has electric outlet so I need to get 2 HDMI cables to TV.
On ground to the side I have cable and electric, also needing access for the 2 HDMI to run up to TV.
My question lies in the wall plates for these HDMI cables. Im really liking the single gang "brush" style wallplates that mount to the low voltage rings. Nice on price and easy to add more cables if needed.
Any downside to these over going with a custom plate with plugs built in?

I did the brush type behind my TV and the custom plate on the other end.
