I've been paying for Spotify for probably close to 4 or 5 years now. I love it. I haven't used Google Play in probably that long as well though because it was terrible. But now hearing new info on it I may give it a shot.

I hate Pandora and don't understand why so many people use it so much.

No, and they changed/removed APIs back in April so third party desktop clients don't work. Not sure if anyone has a workaround yet.
I've been using Spotify since it's much better on desktop. I may try apple music when it comes out for Android later this year.

Price.
Familiarity.
Desktop/Laptop/Mobile interface.

The first one probably being the most important.

I was going to try Apple at the outset, but running it through iTunes, which almost everyone hates, was a huge mistake IMO.

Well, you build up your preferences and dislikes. You hate doing it all over again.

What are the main differences between Pandora, Rhapodsy and Spotify?

Spotify subscriber for 4 years here. It's the best most undedrvalued service IMO. My daughter, me, and gf share my account. You can only stream online on any one device at any given time. But My daughter and I have downloaded playlists and thus go offline(setting in spotify) to listen simultaneously. My gf is only user that streams her country music playlist(option to download is always there).

You can download songs and make your own playlists to take anywhere. You can collaborate on playlists. My daughter can add songs so when I go pick up her little sisters 80 miles away, I can play thoses songs.

DO NOT PAY FOR PANDORA. Spotify is $10 a month and has all the streaming capability of Pandora plus allows you to download(actually rent) 3000 songs to any device. You can switch them out and such anytime.

TLDR: Spotify or Google Music by a MILE. Not even same category as the baby shite Pandora.

I much prefer having one.

Isn't Pandora like 3 bucks a month?

I'm a spotify homer, but they're different. Pandora radio and discovery algos are much, much better than Spotify.

Pandora radio

This...the one feature I want 90% of the time is to shuffle my radio stations...weather it be a artist or genre. So for now I use pandora free and will pay for one service to obtain higher quality audio and the ability to listen to something specific. I just dont understand why the other services dont mimic pandora radio stuff.

I prefer Spotify by a mile over Pandora. But they are different products so it really depends if you prefer random play radio or you prefer listening to certain artist and albums.
