Did anybody try this? Did it improve service for you at your home?

I had one when I was with AT&T and I increased bars from 1 to 4. It was not hard to set up but it does not allow automatic access. You had to list phones that would be allowed access.

No need with wifi calling enabled as it does the same thing.

Yes they work well. Make sure you can get it near a window or you may have trouble getting it to lock on to gps.

I had to get an external antenna for mine to make it work.

This was 5 years ago, but I don't think they have chamged much.

Is your provider giving you one or do you have to purchase it?

I have one. It's OK. It allows me to receive texts and calls inside my house which I couldn't before. There are a few small issues. For example I can't start a call in my house then get in the car and drive away. The call always drops instead of seamlessly switching from the MicroCell to the att cell tower. I also noticed texts take longer to go through when I'm home on the MicroCell than when I'm somewhere else. With that said, the MicroCell has definitely improved my service in my house.

I have mine setup in my wiring closer which is in the middle of the house. Mine doesn't require GPS so it doesn't need to be near a window

I just moved out of my apartment and left mine there. Thought it was just 3G? Maybe they upgraded?

Got it around 2009, it made my att service bearable for sure. Got to manage who access, otherwise it was a good product. If you bitch at them enough, they will give it to you for free.

I have to have one at work and home just to be able to talk. That's how bad AT&T is in Alexandria.

YES. That's the only way I can get a signal inside of my house. Call ATT and bitch that you can't get a signal and if they can't help you are cancelling. they will send you one.

They work. The first generation ones could be tricky to get set up but they have gotten better. Most people don't understand how they work though. It just converts your phone to a VOIP device. That being said, if your current home phone service is a VOIP, you will need to temporarily disconnect it so the microcell will finish the set up.

Do yourself a favor and google it. No need for microcell whatsoever.
