Cox internet is better by a mile. As for price, Cox is definitely better bang for buck, but not necessarily cheaper. I think 18mbps with u-verse is $61, and 50Mbps with cox is just a few dollars more. Not sure what the higher U-verse speeds cost because 18mbps is the highest available in my area.

AT&T internet with Uverse is basically DSL quality.

It is slow as shite. When I visit my mom in Houston, who has Uverse, the LTE on my phone is faster.

I have 0 problems with my AT&T internet, but you get more Mbps from Cox for your buck.

Where I live in Nola Att only offers up to 6 Mbps, and it's like $40 or $50. Cox offers 50 Mbps for $50, which is a 12 month promotional offer, but still much better value at it's normal price.

I don't understand why some people willingly pay for something they don't get. I had one problem when I was with Uverse and I stayed on their arse until it was fixed. With the exception of one week out of 2-3 years I always had the speed I paid for.

ETA:

Either way Cox offers the better deal on internet.

Yeah, when I was with U-verse for over 2 years, I had an outage of approximately 2 hours, and 100% up time outside of that. I always got my advertised speed. By comparison, Cox has more maintenance-related outages, but they are short, infrequent, and usually only during hours where normal humans shouldn't be awake and on the internet anyway. Haven't had a Cox outage in months, actually, not even for a minute. So, I rarely have to compare ISPs based on reliability. Simply, I am paying 20% more for 5x the bandwidth with lower latency.

I had ATT. Constantly was getting kicked off the internet. Wasn't for long periods of time, but would just randomly kick me off for a minute or two.
Sucks when i'm going through a VPN on my work computer and i get kicked off the VPN and have to shut down my browser after i connect back. Was an enormous pain in the arse, and i thought the internet was slow.

Switched to Cox, infinitely better.

besides the fact that Cox has better internet, ATT has the worse customer service on the face of this earth. IF they in any way start to trickle over into Directv's customer service, i would drop DTV in a heartbeat. frick ATT.
