Is HBO Go free with Apple TV? I realize you can access HBO Go with Apple TV but is a previous subscription to HBO required to actually use it?

Do you really think you can buy a $99 box and get a $15 per month ($180 per year) service for free? Not only is a previous subscription required, you have to have a subscription with a cable provider that has worked out a deal with HBO. That should be most of them by now, but it took a while for a lot of the smaller and regional ones to get it.

HBO did say they would launch a stand alone internet subscription later this year fwiw.

I was under that impression until someone mentioned otherwise recently. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on free HBO when I've had Apple TV for a while now.

its not free on apple tv, but if you buy a google chromecast you get HBOgo free and watch ESPN free. Google really hooks their customers up.
