I don't normally consume a ton of data usually hovering around 1GB per month and never received the "warning message" from ATT. Ever since I got the new iPhone I've been warned two months in a row and just went over the limit on my 2GB plan. Something ain't right and I'm headed to the ATT store today to see what's up. Anyone else with the same issue?

I have not had the Data Hog issue. But, it is a known item.

One article on it and a remedy

I just had an issue today where my phone was at 100% battery when I left home this morning at 6am. By 9am I was at 50% and i switched to low power mode. Now at 1pm my battery is down to 20%.

What gives? All of a sudden the battery sucks.

Face book ws eating almost 20% but I kept closing the app and turning it off in low power mode. Didn't help. In fact , I've been charging for 1.5 hours and am now only up to 53%.

Something is wrong.

Seriously though. I deleted Facebook yesterday and have been on low battery mode since my last full charge at 6:30am and am down to 72% already at 9:35am.

What gives here? I haven't even been on my phone. Been working.

You got a problem unit. My 6s Plus is three hours into the day and still at 100%. Checking email every so often.

TURN OFF WIFI ASSIST.

Wifi Assist is new to the most recent operating system. Its purpose is to bridge the gap between any wifi you are hooked up to and mobile data to avoid that drop-off you get for a few minutes when you leave your house's wifi while streaming something before your phone recognizes and accepts that it isn't on wifi anymore and connects you through mobile data.

The problem is in practice it is "jumping in" and using mobile data even when it would be perfectly fine to just leave you on wifi. Thus, it's draining mobile data when you think you are connected to wifi.

Go to settings, click cellular, scroll ALL the way to the bottom and turn off Wifi Assist.

I made an appointment at the genius bar...where they will give me a new phone and I'll have to enter all of my freaking payment settings again.

15 hours after my last charge and I still have 65%. Good luck with your new phone.

And it'll be a brown box new one. Not a refurb.

It's a brand new unit, but it comes in a plain brown box. It's what Apple sends out for replacements. Keep your current box if you plan on reselling later.

I got one when my first iPad mini went tits up a couple years ago.

So I got a brown box replacement after he said my phone was definitely messed up. Apps only consuming 12% are not to blame. 30-40% would be an issue so he said it was hardware since I didn't have any apps like that.

Well. It's 2:24pm and I'm down to 28% battery off a full charge from 6:30am.

Is it something else? Is this right? It's only been about 8 hours of MINIMAL use.

Or does he iPhone 6s battery just suck this bad? I've about had enough the 6 never gave me issues.
