Received mine mid January and haven't opened it.

I recently started using mine after reading up on loading Kodi on it. Haven't used the pre-loaded apps on it much though.

I use it probably everyday thanks to loading TVMC/Kodi/XBMC on it.
I'll occasionally use the Showtime App or ESPN but not too often.

So do you have to buy the remote separately?

I don't even know what to do with it tbh.

I don't either. It's a flash drive, right? Just plug it into a USB port in the TV?

yes correct. What Im unclear if a kindle is necessary to stream to the stick or can you do it from any laptop or tablet?

I asked this question that hysterical day back in December. No one knew the answer but I fricking ran to amazon.com and bought one anyway.

Check out amazon. I think I saw an explanation about how it works with tablets yesterday. I just didn't pay much attention to it.

It's great, totally replaced my Apple TV and now I have access to prime videos, Netflix and Kodi/xbmc all in one place.

No. It comes with a basic remote.

Plugs into an HDMI port. It is powered by USB, which may be provided by either your TV or the included wall adapter.

You can stream to it from most mobile devices. It is not limited to Amazon products.

I originally thought it'd be worthless to me, but seems like it or chromecast may be especially useful for a mounted tv (inside or out?). Have never had a mounted TV before but we're moving, so this just occurred to me.

You are always so thorough, Doc.

Amazon TV stick is better than the chromecast or Roku stick. It is very fast, and I can turn the tv on and have amazon prime video going in less than 30 seconds. Kodi takes a minute longer to get going, but is reason unto itself to use it.

I'm going to get Amazon Fire TV and the Roku3. I'm excited.

Mine will arrive tomorrow. Kodi will be installed promptly and DirecTV will be fired in short order.
