Anyone Purchase Through Dell.com? re: promo eGift Cards

Currently eyeing a deal on a Sony TV. The deal is $1998 plus a $400 Dell promo eGift Card (redeemable 10-20 days after purchase) plus 10% back in rewards if you sign up for 12 months no interest financing. That would be nearly $600 in eGift Cards (granted they expire after 90 days).
Getting conflicting statements from Dell customer service about their 30 Day Price Guarantee and this particular deal.
During a chat session, the customer service representative said the 30 Day Price Guarantee would not apply to any other offer that didn’t not include the eGift Card promo (obviously not applicable to retailers other than Dell). However, she said since the price guarantee is handled by customer care, its best to contact them, which I did.
When speaking to the folks overseas at customer care, they said the $1998 could be matched for 30 days at all eligible price match competitors and the $400 GC promo would still apply.
Anyone have any insight on this? I would hate to pull the trigger on this deal only to have the price drop before or after the Superbowl and have Dell renege on their offer. And conversely it would be quite a slick deal to get the promo gift card plus a price match if the TV were to drop around $200.

Correct. 90 days after invoice date. Having $600 in eGift Cards would give me plenty of options (soundbar or another smaller TV for the bedroom) before the 90 days is up.
I'm more concerned about losing the $400 promo card if I were to use the 30 day price match.

They are always on eBay as well.

I have used them in the past when my living room TV went out, I purchased one for the living room then used the two $300 gift cards a month later to buy a new TV for the bedroom.
I say cards because at first they didn't send the initial card, so I called and talked to customer service and they sent me one after seeing that it had not been sent. A couple days later a second card showed up in my email... I used both of them and bought the second TV for almost nothing out of pocket (55" LG, which isn't the best, but its in my bedroom).
I'm not sure about your situation, but the cards worked out for me...
