This is probably a slim chance, but I'd like to talk to someone who works for Charter. (Livingston area)

I've been talking back and forth with their customer service over the phone and in their office for the past year trying to get internet ran to my house.

I live on a small street about 1/8 mile off of a main road that has charter internet all of the way down.
I would like to talk to someone about running internet, and trying to pay for them to install anything they would need.

Thanks!

It's very possible

I feel like I'm in the Stone Age with no wifi for the past year and a half.

I don't want to go the satellite route because of the very limited data cap and relatively slow speeds.

do you know anyone in your neighborhood that has a pretty clear line of sight between your house and theirs that has charter internet? you can setup a wireless shot for pretty cheap and split the bill.

Several miles if you have clear line of sight and focus the signal well.

There are lots of options for getting internet from point A to point B, and you should definitely look into it if they won't run cable to your house. frick them for being cheap, they don't deserve monthly fees from you.

Those assholes won't run line to my dad's house in Ponchatoula, it's holding me back from ever moving out on the land over there.

What sucks worse is that the neighborhood I left to move out here was just getting ATT gigabit

have you tried being passive aggressive on twitter with them?

every single time I've had problems with them, I go to twitter and get bumped to like the top of their list

I've looked for their Facebook page but could never find it. I'll @ them on Twitter

They got back to me on both Facebook and Twitter. They are supposed to be contacting me with construction estimates. I won't get my hopes up though

I doubt you will find people ever admitting they work for that hellhole of a company.

Do you own the land that is connected to the main road?

No I don't. There are five houses down my street (which is also paved blacktop). I'm the 3rd house down

From what they told me, you can provide names of the people on your street that are interested in the service and drop the names and addresses off to the office in Hammond.

They will pass it to construction and they will look into it. No guarantees.

Apparently that's the only way. You can't call, fax or email it in. It's stupid.

We saw a truck down our street one day and he said he was doing some estimating so we could possibly end up with service eventually.

Where (roughly) in Livingston are you? I'm off of Red Oak

The main road I'm talking about is Red Oak. So we aren't far apart at all.
