Mine has been very slow the past few days and uploads are almost impossible. It took my dropbox about 2-3 hours to sync a 10MB file.

I finally called tech support last night. They pinged my router and lost half of the packages. I talked to a neighbor this AM that was having a similar problem. So I called Cox again this AM. I didn't even go through the prompts, someone picked up the phone and said they are having major issues and he couldn't even pull up my account or check out my system.

while I have a wifi router, my home is hard wired with cat5e. Cox was able to confirm the problem is between Cox and my modem.

Been slow as well. Also got an email from Cox this week telling me I needed a new modem to take full advantage of my tier.

They pinged his router and lost half the packets. That is a cable problem, not wireless interference.

How's that blazing fast speed working out for you? Maybe time to take a look at U-Verse.

Cox will figure something like that out pretty quickly. U-Verse will still be shitty DSL.

Same here. My service goes to crap on 8/20 sometime in the afternoon. Less than 24 hours later I get an email from Cox telling me I need to update my modem to a DOCSIS 3.0.

Internet has been down since Wednesday. Tech came out to replaced my modem Thursday which worked for a few minutes. Tech was supposed to come back yesterday but didn't show up. I tried calling Cox today but their systems are down.

Probably because they will be doubling everyone's speed by the end of the year.

And Cox nodes will continue to be oversubscribed.

For me, DOCSIS 3 was the solution to 10 years of slowness and packet loss lasting months at a time that would occur between 6 PM and 2 AM or so, and I went through this multiple times at a couple of different houses with at least 3 different modem models that I can remember. Replacing the Motorola 5xxx model with the 6120 during an instance of this issue solved it immediately and completely, and I've had no recurrence of this issue in the 4 years since then. Channel bonding was the answer to the oversubscription problem.

For the last few months, Cox has been having weekly outages from 12 AM to 2 AM, which takes everything out, phone, TV, and Internet. I am told this is due to network upgrades to support the upcoming speed doubling.

LoL. I don't think this means what you think it does.
