Anybody use wireless transmitters for surround sound speakers?

Buying a house with a vaulted ceiling in the den that doesn't provide access for me to run wires through the walls from across the room. We are replacing the carpet with tile, so I can't run wire underneath. I've looked into the wireless transmitters, but I don't know if they are reliable or will affect sound quality too much. It would only be for surrounds, but i don't want them to sound shitty or cut out or anything. You guys have any experience with these?
