Any Comcast customers here who have switched to the X1 platform?

I just picked my set up a while ago, and now I'm wondering if I made a huge mistake. Experiences, thoughts?

I had it for about a year and loved it. Very user friendly interface once you figure out the basics.

I recently downgraded my cable to basic only, but I kept the X1 box as my dvr.

Its was awful. Very glitchy and input from the remote is extremely delayed. Has some nice features, but not quite ready for primetime.

They also are trying to build a nation wide WiFi hotspot so I didn't get my own personal network key.Anyone who has a Comcast.net email login can essentially connect to your WiFi. I canceled and went with Uverse.

This is if you rent your wireless router from them.

Had it for 2 months, love it. Got 50 up 10 down, HBO, ton of HD channels and Netflix through a ps3 for 104 a month total out the door.

No problems with it and it works fast and sure. Records a bunch of shows at once. Kinda keeps up with what you watch and leads to similar stuff, but not that evasive creepy way.

Was about to cut the cord and go through all that but went down there and found about this.

May be cursing myself but it was brutal until about 3 months ago and has since been worth every penny.

I liked it after a while. At first it was laggy as shite and would take forever to pull up the menu.

ETA: It was awesome for the World Cup

What? I have X1 and I definitely have my own network. Just don't use their router and the problem is solved. Comcast internet is so much faster than U-verse.

As far as X1 for tv, I agree that it has its glitches, and the Uverse interface was much smoother and faster. However, it is still a good interface and much better than the regular comcast crap.

ETA: The sports app is pretty sweet for football on saturdays and sundays this past fall...

At my house it's 32Mbps, whereas the max I could get from UVerse is 18. That is the only reason I haven't taken this shitty X1 stuff back to Comcast. The main box is fine, but the smaller "satellite" box is just terrible. I have to reset it nearly every day. It'll say that shows that I know are On Demand are unavailable, until I unplug the box and plug it in again and they're available to watch.

I will say this: my bill for X1 is very cheap. For 2 HD boxes, HBO and some other movie package, and internet it's $115/mo.

I haven't had any similar problems with my satellite box
