Since I am not tech savvy I have been seeing individuals selling jail broke firesticks. There are several out there for sale $75-$100 - We have been thinking about getting rid of Directv what exactly does jail broke mean and what benefits would one have?

Buy one for $38 and go to YouTube and spend 10 minutes following a step by step guide on installing Kodi
You don't really jailbreak them just have to follow steps and you can do it all within 10 minutes

Ok thanks - is it fairly simple and just need a laptop or desktop? I don't mind paying someone but if I can fumble through it I may try.

Pay a little extra and get a Fire tv instead.
Works the same but more powerful and you can plug it into your router.

I have fire tv now no router close to the TV or jack to plug one in.

Even if running on wireless, get the Fire Tv instead of the stick.
