Fire TV - 4k HDR upgrade for $70. It does have an Alexa remote but this isn't the Fire TV meets Echo Dot meets Harmony Hub device that has also been rumored.

Echo Spot - a small alarm clock version of the Echo Show.

Echo Plus - Like the original Echo speaker but is designed to be a smart home hub with lots of easy set up and even comes with a Hue light bulb. You don't need to install apps or skills to set up many common smart home devices. It sounds like Alexa has also been upgraded as part of this.

quote:

Alexa can now add multiple events to a routine that you activate with one command. For instance, saying, “Alexa, good morning” can turn on the lights, open a smart window shade, get the weather, or command a teakettle to boil water in one fluid motion.

Echo A new, smaller echo speaker for $99 that can do multi room audio (3 pack is $250)

There were actually even more devices than that. The Verge has coverage of it and more pictures. LINK

Fire TV is a very good price point and supports Dolby Atmos. I stop using one as they push their Prime too hard but always was a solid device now made better. Don't think it has optical.

Nothing makes me happier than new amazon stuff.

The FireTV and the Echo are total steals.

When they eventually decide to take on Apple again and come out with a new cell phone, I'll make the switch.

Amazon pricing their 4K Fire TV with HDR at $70 just took a gigantic dump on Apples 4k capable Apple TV at $170.

Spot looks pretty cool. They're not getting $130 from me for that shite, though.

Just saw that you have to buy a $15 adapter for Ethernet. Still not bad, but closer to $85 to get HDR streaming since I doubt wifi could handle that smoothly.

It's like a more awkward stick. Still requires external power and no Ethernet port, though you can buy an optional adapter.

Ethernet adapter hanging off the stick. I'd really love to go out drinking with the Amazon design team.

I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of users use wifi and Amazon has the data to know that. Also, I think this will end up being the middle of the FireTV lineup. Before the official release one of the rumor sites had a picture of a Fire TV "cube" with Alexa lighting on the top. It's got Echo Dot and Harmony Hub with IR Blaster functionality built in.

I'll be keeping my current gen Fire TV. The need for a hanging ethernet adapter and the hdmi plug-in design are huge turnoffs, not worth the added HDR support.

I just pre-ordered that. Need the beefier Fire TV (have fire stick I can move to guest room) with Ethernet in my living room. Sick of it being on wifi.

And wanted another Dot for the kitchen. The one we bought for there now permanently lives in our bathroom because I love shower music and news

Do you have a mounted TV? This should just be hidden behind mine.
