Does this upset anybody else?

This guy.
Not only for his various USMNT failures, but he's usually money against RSL.

Belgium
Just. Belgium.

Not really.
I would expect the MLS record to be owned by a guy who had the skills to be relevant in the league for 12+ or so years, but was never good enough to play anywhere else, and was marginally affiliated with the national team (meaning he wasn't always, throughout his career, called up to those qualifiers or Gold Cup that the MLS doesn't take an international break from and thus misses dozens of games over the years).

There have always been players great for club, or at least consistent, but not much for the NT.
It's frustrating for sure though.

Give Josef Martinez 3 more years.

Oh wow. The miss is even more excruciating from that angle. Even the Belgian defenders thought he was gonna bury that by their reactions.
But yeah, Wondo will go down as one of the best forwards in MLS history, for a while, at least. He's a consistently good player, but not good enough to push himself to a higher level. I feel bad for the guy. That miss is all most people will remember him for, and he's such a nice guy. Very active in the Native American community.
I know sports is full of stories like this, but just imagine most people only remembering you by one of the lowest moments of your life. It's pretty sad to think about, and it's reality for Wondo. He'll never have the chance for true redemption.
