that looks about right. I still think we could see Chandler replace Cherundolo(35 in Feb 2014) or Beasley.

Cameron may have a spot when next year rolls around too. still interested to see where Hughes places him.

aaaaannnndddd, for better or worse. Jones typlically plays farther up the field than Bradley.

I am scared of Beasley against better teams. did you watch the last 5 minutes of the game where Panama kept attacking his side with long balls and set pieces? A better team can do that all day against him.

I like your starting line-up otherwise. I vaguely remember Chandler playing at LB a couple of times in friendlies. If he can play there, that would be perfect. Otherwise, we have to go with Fabian at LB.

Subs

GK: Guzan, any one of Rimando, Hall, Hamid, or Johnson although I am still pissed at Johnson for not getting to the Olympics
DF: Beasley, Cameron, Goodsen, Bocanegra
MF: Danny Williams, Zusi, Edu, someone dynamic like Shea/Gatt/Mix or a healthy Holden
Attack: Gomez, Eddie Johnson

Holden hasn't shown us yet that he has his 2010-11 Bolton form back yet. Hope he does in the Gold Cup.

That loss is every bit as much Hamid's fault. He was (badly) hurt, knew it, stayed in the game and gave up a cheap goal in a game we were dominating.

Without that, there is no opportunity for the ref (same guy as last night, btw) to give them 277463264 minutes of stoppage time to get a winner.

I mostly agree with the OP's XI, but I think Zusi starts on the right and landon shifts to the left. I really don't see beasley starting, and I think I'd want Fabian there. As much as the centerbacks still kind of worry me, I don't see anyone usurping them with only a year before the world cup. I know this is probably not realistic at all, but I hope a young guy like Jack McInerney gets a roster spot as an energy guy/ late sub.

Why don't you and Jack McKinerney get a room already?

Something about young Philadelphia Union forwards, I was all aboard the Danny Mwanga train.
But I think giving a young striker a chance is a good idea. Between Jack McInerney, teal bunbury, terrence boyd, juan agudelo, and CJ sapong, I'd like to see the most in form guy get a shot (as a sub of course).

We need another striker to emerge from the Gold Cup. Who is our top backup for Jozy right now? I would have very little confidence that any of them would score goals.

I think Klinsmann is making a huge mistake if he's counting on Beasley to be our starter at LB going into the World Cup. Our number 2 striker at this point is probably Boyd, followed by Herc and EJ. I think given our midfield depth, if something happened to Jozy in a big match we might see Deuce slide up top.

Yeah striker depth is my biggest fear right now. If Jozy goes down Deuce sliding up top is probably our best option although I dont like it. He's best when playing off of the striker. Right now I would say EJ is right behind Jozy, then Herc, then I drink heavily.

I think we'll see a lot of experimentation up top at the gold cup. Hopefully someone rises above the rest of the group

Where's boyd? I really hope we don't ever use wondo or buddle again.

Robbie Findley has been playing well for Real Salt Lake.

AND he already has World Cup experience.
