With the broadcast rights bidding coming up. What do you think?

I fear they won't keep it but really hope they do. NBC has done a fantastic job with pretty much every aspect. The analyst, commentary and coverage have been top notch. The outlets with NBC, NBCSP, NBC SPORTS Live Extra Web and the App have provided coverage in the US that can't be beat.

My biggest concern is that a dual Fox/ESPN deal will be reached. This scenario would be terrible imo. These channels I fear will not match what we currently get and coverage would take a step back.

LINK searched the board and didn't see a thread about this but siap.

There was a lot of fear when it went to NBC in the first place and it's obviously turned out great. I think it would be fine if it moved again.

ESPN would be fine

FOX scares the shite out of me, especially with FOX Soccer 2 Go and FOX Soccer Plus somehow surviving

ESPN did fine before, so I think they can again. I have really enjoyed NBC's coverage, though.

Agreed that Fox is kind of concerning. If they get the EPL, I'm afraid they'll push a lot of Bundesliga to Fox Soccer Plus, which I don't want to pay for.

I hate Fox coverage for all sports except the NFL. Their sports coverage is just so bland and boring. I like NBC's coverage and ESPN does a great job covering the World Cup so I hope one of those two channels gets the rights.

Fox wouldn't do it simply because of the Bundesliga deal that would be going against all the BPL games.

It's NBC's (who has done a tremendous job with coverage) to lose.

ESPN may get in, but they'd also have to juggle college football for the first half of the season.

NBC is where it belongs...keep it there.

NBC or ESPN. If it goes to FOX fml, they are the absolute worst at everything they do.

My only fear for ESPN is will they offer an option to be able to watch any game? I can watch any BPL game on DirecTV included in whatever package I have plus there is Live Extra for all the games for free.

Fox would be a nightmare.

NBC got the EPL rights on the cheap.

Next go around it wont be so easy.

ESPN did a good job with their 2 games a week a few years ago. Usually the early saturday game and the monday night football.

Basically Darke and steve mcmanaman just moved to BT Sport which does a lot of broadcasting with ESPN UK. Basically ESPN UK, and the 2 BT Sport channels are all the same.

If ESPN gets the rights in the states id expect just using the BT feed for the games shown on TV here which means lots of Darke who is awesome and Michael Owen who is awful. Then do what they do for the for the 3pm games here and just show the feed with random play by play guys. BT is about to show alot more games the next few years so i could see ESPN making a play to get the American rights again.

Darke during the FA cup made a QB reference while on BT. I think he forgot who his audience was on sunday.

My sentiments exactly. Fox treats everything like NFL coverage. Their broadcasts seem so "cheap". Plus, I don't want to see those two weird arse robots kicking a ball around... ever.

NBC has done an excellent job, and hopefully, they go all in for the next round of bidding. I love their presentation. It does a good job of treating the sport like it's not some upcoming trend. They also don't go too far with trying to Americanize it by grabbing any American who has any history with the sport as pundits and whatnot. It just seems forced with Fox and occasionally ESPN.

I agree with all of this.

Hopefully NBC will keep it.

Like most people here, I'd be ok with ESPN, but prefer NBC for now. And I really enjoy the Men in Blazers show.

Lord knows that fox would try something like that with Lalas. And I hate Lalas. I wish one of the shitty mls teams (one of the teams I hate for unknown reasons) would hire him as GM to get him out of the match analysis gig

I've really enjoyed NBC's handling of EPL this season. Would be sad to see them lose it, but it's not like ESPN would do that much worse unless they relegated it all to ESPN 3 and had MLS/USMNT commentators.

ESPN could integrate with the BT Sport coverage which it very hit or miss. Fletch and Sav might be the worst pregame show ever.

Any club who does that would be dumb. He was awful in LA.

I could see Fox getting the rights, then telling all cable providers they want 1 billion dollars or they will show equestrian instead of the games.

I hope so. The presentation and product is great. ESPN would be a nice fallback option.
