What is your opinion of the Adidas Academic 50 ID soccer camp?

Just a money making deal or something worth a high school soccer player going to? Son interested in playing college soccer. Thanks.

camps at the high school age are pointless unless hes getting serious college looks or is trying to get an academy .

He is young but some D1 schools have contacted him directly (not the mass email stuff). I assume it was from Regionals last year.

I hear you about college athletics but I don't think I can tell him not to pursue something if he wants to. But yes, we will be looking at academics first.

Negative. Pondered it for a little while in high school.
But after seeing an older sibling play college athletics at a school where he couldn't get a decent degree, I decided to go for engineering instead.

pretty hard for kids to get MLS academy looks when there is no team close. European ones can't sign him until he's 18 unless someone in your family has an EU passport.

No shite i'd look into a Liga MX youth set up if you can.

How much is the camp? If he is interested in playing at the next level then I think it would be good to play against other top players around the country.
