Mix and Bradley dominated the game.

Dos a cero. Love it

Alvarado had a great game I thought.

It is a shame the field was so bad though. USSF should be embarrassed

Morris, Agudelo, Zardes, Altidore hopefully Johanson I think we have some strikers boys . I still wish to give Nagbe and Joe Gyau shots though .

Didn't take long for somebody to make Morris a fixture in the national team.

My opinions - it's really tough to get a read on beating Mexico C (minus) in a horse pasture, but here goes:

I didn't see anything from Morris (before the goal), that showed he should have been on the field for any sort of full international. He was primarily doing donkey work up top, but (BIG BUT) he finished when the ball fell at his feet. We've had other donkeys (Bobby Wood, Wondo, Will Bruin - even McInerney was brought in in 2013), but they've all had finishing yips. Morris got a couple fortunate bounces and put the ball away. I'd still be (very) disappointed if he was part of the Gold Cup team.

Bradley was a monster in midfield. Again - against Mexican U-23s, so I don't know what to take from it, but he was all over the place and made the right pass 99% of the time.

Agudelo's take was fantastic. If he can keep his form up, it would be nice to pair him with Altidore.

It was nice to not have central defenders losing people in the box all the time.

Mix played his best game in a US jersey, I think.

How shitty must Julian Green be playing right now, to not even sniff the field in this kind of game?

Yedlin is fast.

I liked the announce team. For long stretches, Lalas kept his trap shut and let the PBP guy do his thing. Very European-y commentary feel, at least in the first half.

The field was embarrassing. We're lucky not to have a major injury (unless Beckerman's is more severe than they said last night.)

Game definitely lacked the sizzle of prior US/Mexico games.

I disagree with you about Morris not looking the part. He was a constant menace with his runs and fought for every aerial challenge and showed no fear. He's a god damn college sophomore and he went toe to toe with guys in Liga Mx who are in consideration for Hererra's A team. A b c d e or f team IDGAF, let's not downplay what that young man accomplished. He held his own in an international match. I look forward to seeing how he progresses.

Also, only 3 players on that Mexican team were under 23 years old.

He has a ways to go before he should be involved in any competitive international match but what was saw was certainly encouraging

So happy he's back to playing club ball. Would love to see him paired with Jozy.

Everything I've read and heard about him since the WC has not been very encouraging. Hopefully he can catch on somewhere and turn it around next season

Non contact knee injuries are never good (if it was a knee as it looked). And he played a great game up to that point as well

All of this.

There's some reasoning to why Jurgen called him up (whether it's valid in our opinion or not), and I think he showed it last night.

He's not a fixture, he's still a huge project, but he played his balls off and took his chance well. That was encouraging to see.

One would think that with all the Mexicans in that building having a nice patch of grass to play on wouldn't be a huge issue

I agree - he busted his arse. I mean he should - he's a college kid playing against Mexico.

But he DID give the effort - we certainly haven't seen that from Jozy.

Most of what I saw from Morris was representative of that long run down the left. Head down - bust arse - run down to the box against two guys - have no options - fall down. Had that ball not deflected off of Zardes into Morris' path, we'd be having a drastically different discussion about him. Good on him for being in the right place AND finishing a chance - but it was a Wondo-esque game, with far less skill.

I just thought it was funny to see somebody lump him in with Jozy and Johannsson already.

I mean, Teal Bunbury scored a fantastic goal against a weak opponent a few years ago - and then we never heard from him again. And I think Bunbury's shown waaaay more than anything I saw from Morris yesterday.

Forgot to mention - I thought Garza did really well in the first half. I'm hoping his poor performance last month was just a blip.

Morris fell on that run because of the grass, I'm pretty sure. And I agree about Garza. I usually think he's pretty solid. That said I think Shea has had better crosses.

Didn't post during the game last night, but I personally though Morris choked a few times and didn't look very comfortable, at least when it came to finishing. Other than that, he is super athletic and I wasn't expecting that. He is IMO, a great young prospect.

Watched the game at BWW and there was a table of Mexican fans that got a full taste from me all night. I know last night meant nothing, but any game against Mexico is personal to me. Frick em.

Klinsmann still undefeated against Mexico. Love it.

Thought so too, and i didnt hate corona out there, but part of me thinks that speaks more to their familiarity with the opponent. Dont know, would love Garza to lock down his spot, but will have to see it against better sides.
