US world cup chances

So we have to win tonight to get in the WC?
Is this correct?
If true, that sucks. When was the last time we weren't in the world cup?
Do you think not being in the WC next year will further set back the development of the sport in this country, because a lot less people will be watching?

Not correct. We are currently in the qualifying round. If we finish in the top 3 of this group we're in. If we come in 4th, we play New Zealand to get in. With that being said our chances of making the World Cup are good.

To get through the Hex you have to be top 3 of 6 to move on. The 4th place team still has a chance (plays playoff). There are 10 hex games(home/away w each team). Right now it looks like this:

No Honduras was our first game and we lost. Mexico has two draw already against Honduras and Jamaica

We lost to Honduras in our first match. Mexico hasn't lost - they've drawn twice. They have two points.

We had our first win there ever just a few months ago. A draw tonight would be a success IMO. We would be ahead of Mexico and would have already played them on the road.
