Remember how awful that 2014 qualifying campaign was at one point? Hopefully we see a similar turnaround. I'm not going to jump off the deep end but these last few months have been pretty frustrating to say the least.

No way Cwill
It's sad that the state of US soccer has us happy with a draw in a shitty performance at TNT.

I'm honestly ok with a point on the road against this team.

My thoughts. 4pts from the first two was the minimum bar to call it a good start. Drawing this, I don't think the US loses any game in our group.

I really don't mind the point, but it was just another uninspiring performance from this team.

eta: Basically this

Klinsmann was not hired to set us up for conservative draws on the road in the CONCACAF semifinals four years into his tenure.

I mean, I think we should try to get to the point where we can realistically expect to be the dominant side away from home against most CONCACAF teams. I just don't think that's where we are at now. Thus, a draw here is a solid result.

You mean get a point on the road?

Any points are good, but this uninspired play with disoriented first halves is becoming way too normal. It sucks to say but it won't be good enough to beat the good CONCACAF teams.

And yes, I remember barely beating Antigua & Barbuda last time around, but that's when the Klinsmann "experimentation" excuse was acceptable.

I agree with this 100%. But right now under his tenure we're not good enough to expect attacking soccer on the road in the CONCACAF semifinals.

We haven't found anyone even close to Landon and we are going without Dempsey. Not to mention how far Bradley and Altidore have fallen in the past two years. I am not giving Klinsmann a pass for all his poor decisions, but the fact is we don't have any goal scorers.

That said its time to give up on Zardes. And Yedlin is painful to watch now that he has settled down.

I'm so confused as to how Klinsmann still has a job.

No, Yedlin is still a very competent and at times, explosive fullback. He's not a right mid/winger. His ball skills/technical ability isn't there. He's much, much better with the play in front of him. He's better with space to run into and to dash past defenders, such as his overlapping runs from fullback. Like Bradley the last 1.5 years, we are seeing a good player not being put in a position to play their best, most contributive soccer.

Yedlin is a massive liability at fullback, and he has no idea what he's doing on the wings.

Is he against these teams? I think he's more of a liability at RM because he isn't technical enough on the ball in tight spaces and doesn't cover well from the MF. I have been fine with his limited performances we have seen him in at RB.

We set up for this game to play very defensively which is the most frustrating part. Orozco at RB was never going to provide anything going forward and Ream doesn't get too high up the field either. This left Yedlin and Fabs isolated on the wings.

Zardes' first touch continues to be complete shite and his miss was awful. Great ball by Jozy who put in a lot of hard work last night. Why Zardes got another start after his performance last game is beyond me. I think Wood making crafty runs on that backline for 90 minutes would have created quite a few dangerous chances.

After a shaky start the D settled in for the most part. Still some pucker moments that shouldn't happen but what can you expect with no consistency in the back 4 ever

I thought Jones had a great game

yes, he should take a lot of blame for the first goal against SV&G. Fullback, winger or wherever, it doesn't really matter as he's always being caught out of position.

I do not want to see him on the field before the 70th minute. He's still useful right now, just not as a starter.
