No doubt Lovren's in bad form now, but he can be good when he is on form. He's aggressive and when he's playing well that can be a good thing to him breaking up attacks. Obviously, it leads to mistakes as well. He's also slightly more adept to playing a high line than Klavan in my opinion. Klavan is just so slow. They both have their good and bad.

Come on, man. Let's keep it friendly on here.

I've been watching this club consistently since 2002. I can you assure I've seen all of Lovren's bone-headed mishaps. No one this board dislikes him more than me. And that's because, as of right now, he is the undisputed Team A starter for us. And for him to be starting on the first team, for me, is a true indication of how bad our options truly are for that spot.

Regarding Klavan, he played a great game yesterday. I can't and won't try to take that away from him, despite the single mistake. But I've seen enough of Klavan from last season to know that he is not capable of sustaining good performances week in week out. He is prone to look absolutely horrid a week after looking excellent. And that's because he simply does not have the athleticism to carry us long term. Nothing against Klavan personally, but he is a squad player. An ideal substitute for Lovren against more physical forwards. But trying to watch him against a more dynamic attack (think Sanchez, Costa esq) and he will lose us games, not just due to mental mistakes, but moreso from lack of ability.

Finally I will say it is important to consider the opponent. Consider the possession game, and numbers of shots taken yesterday. Our defenders were not asked to do a whole lot. And that was a testament to just how dominant we were in possession. Frank de Boer's tactical approach played right into Klopp's hands . The timing for us could not have been better, especially not having Zaha available. Had he been able to go for Palace, then it's possible we're having a very different conversation this morning.

My basic state of life is "a-hole", so I thought I actually was being friendly. If my response gave you anything other than that impression, my apologies.

Starting to see rumors that we are hard after Draxler, some even saying that we are favorites to sign him over Arsenal.

My official take is this -

Lovren has boneheaded plays pretty much every game. But can be solid (but not always solid) throughout other moments. What that means is that he's pretty much giving up chances every single game no matter how well he plays the other moments.

Klavan is more dependable in a game, but is less dependable from game to game. He will play solid (but not spectacular) for 90 minutes three games in a row. But then have an absolute stinker of a game where he's completely off the pace and 3 out of 10.

In a game where we will definitely have more of the ball, in some ways a Klavan makes sense (unless its his stinker game) because you don't want those one or two moments of boneheadedness to kill you.

So Barca's deadline has come and gone.

How long until they say we have until Monday? For real this time...

Henderson is garbage. He was Mr. Backpass/turnover the entire game.

Even if we keep Cou and don't sign anyone else, I could see us easily finishing 6th or 7th this year.

We need a new DM, another all purpose mid, another CB and another striker.

Lallana needs to come back pronto.

I'll settle for a box to box mid and for Christ's sake can we finally sign a starting CB. Draxlerright though would be fantastic!!!

I have completely given up on that happening hog. I absolutely love Klopp and trust him now and for the long term health of our club, but I would live to know the real story about what the hell Sakho could have possibly done to completely rule out running Matip-Sakho out there and replacing him with Lovren. Mind boggling.

Same. Dude's career has collapsed.

He was the freaking captain of PSG for crying out loud. Sad really.

I thought he was our next Captain for awhile. We are talking about a fan favorite that was liked because of his attitude and his affection for the club who plays our biggest position of need. And we evidently rate him at 30 thus pricing him out of his logical suitors. Added to the fact that Klopp doesn't appear or have anything in his past that makes one believe that he is an unreasonable or vindictive manager.

FYI - hendo in the last 12 or so minutes of the watford game completed about 20% of his passes. That's as the CDM when we should be trying to retain possession and see out a lead. That's abysmal.

He didn't play in a competitive game really for about 8 months. Trying to shake the rust off - and I can give him some slack for that. But damn that's just horrid.

Since Sakho was the one getting fat and having to take "fat-burners" in-season, I'm thinking his regard and affection are more directed toward HIMSELF over and above anything else.

There are reasons PSG were more than happy to sell their "captain" in the prime of his career.

Considering personality conflicts with multiple coaches now, maybe just maybe the problem lies with Mamadou Sakho and not multiple individual coaches.

The way I see it is if Klopp is doing this with him then it is rather apparent that the player did something to basically end his career at LFC. I just did not see this coming consideribg since he arrived it is not something I expected from he even with the PSG issues. It is still infuriating.
