Hey fellas, just checking in on the new thread... For the first time in a while I'm really pumped for multiple sports to start this fall (LFC, LSU football and hoops)

Naby Keita

This quote is from last summer. False alarm dude.

Yeah, that would have been a complete 180 from everything we are hearing. It seems both he and VVD both are dying to play for us (specifically Klopp). It sure is a fine line to walk though, at what point do you go to plan B? Do you see these clubs specifically blocking these players? These windows still confuse me how they work, even after 12 years of following them.

5 years back I'd say every player has their price. Now I don't know anymore.

These uber rich prestige projects are out of control. There are only very few clubs top level clubs still run like clubs. The market has gone insane.

Not much different than when we blocked Suarez's move to Arsenal...

Not really.
1. Arsenal is a direct rival. Neither Southampton nor Leipzig are.
2. According to reports Arsenal bid £40 mn + £1. A ridiculously low amount for one of the 5 best players in the world at that time. We are ready to make VvD the most expensive defender transfer ever and Keita the most expensive African footballer ever. According to reports we are ready to spunk £120 - 130 mn on the two of them.

Yea but I think with VvD you have the little bit of bad blood already from the whole tapping up scandal, not to mention we've raided their roster countless times already, so they're probably a bit sick of it. In order for that one to happen, I think he's gonna have to kick up a fuss putting in a transfer request, and then we'll still have to pay out the arse for Southampton to not feel like we're taking advantage of them.

But bottom line... We blocked Suarez's desired move to a UCL club, when we weren't one... Sure, there were nuanced differences to the situation.. But the question was specifically around clubs blocking players moves and thats exactly what we did..

If anything, it was even worse (for them) since Suarez had a £40mm buyout and we just flat out refused to sell..

I think key to that is that Gerrard (and others) talked Suarez out of pushing for it and decided that Liverpool would be the better place to try to realize his ambition of moving to the Spanish giants. Had Suarez continued to push for it, we may have ended up with no choice.

True, after it dragged on it all worked out... But he wanted out and was pissed when we didn't let him go initially..

Would we have sold, who knows? JWH was resolute in saying we would not have..

I know this has been "rumored" for a couple of months... but I think it looks pretty good, if not a bit odd, considering our primary color is red..

Hopefully, it will make VVD feel right at home..

I for one like it a lot, but that may be because my HS Alma Mater wore the same colors so I've always liked them...

Haven't been able to follow...

I like the orange as well, but I want to see a reincarnation of the yellows with red trim we wore three or four years back. Those are my favorite we have worn thus far in my fanhood.

Also a huge fan of the green/whites we have this year.

Grujic with the boomstick.

Also, Twitter says £70M fee has been agreed between Pool and Leipzig. Personal terms agreed last week. All that's left is finalizing the payment structure...I think it's happening boys.
