This team misses Jozy so bad

I know he is feast or famine when it comes to scoring, but with him as the target man on the frontline, our attacking has a lot more purpose and structure because of his ability to hold the ball up and his underrated passing ability to guys running off of him.

Dude, just can't stay healthy when a tournament comes around, whether it's the 2014 World Cup, Gold Cup last year and now the Copa.

I love all that Deuce has done for the USMNT, but at this point in his career, he is simply not fit to be the focal point in our attacking third.

This may be the first time we agree on anything, but you are completely right. That is what I was saying in the game thread is, Bradley looks so much better when Jozy is in the lineup.

I'm lukewarm on Jozy, but I agree about Dempsey. His skills don't make up for the fact that he throws the whole offense out of sync. His attitude has also been poor since the last WC.

In this match not so much. His lack of consistent work rate would hurt us vs Columbia when we can't even get the ball off them.

Que?

I've honestly never heard this complaint about him. Often, Jozy tracks back too far to the defensive end.

Jozy of 2013 you mean? He hasn't been anything from 2014 to now. He looks like a brute, but he plays like he is about 5'8", 130 lbs. Even at the club level, he is a shell of his former self.

Go look up who has scored the most USMNT goals from September of last year to now.

Some garbage friendlies that were mostly tap ins or glory stealers?

That run of like 5 straight games in 2013 where he was imposing his will is the best Jozy. The man who knows he looks like a damn linebacker and uses his body. Since then, he plays like a wussy.

Some were sitters, but what's your point? He's still our best striker in the pool.

Jozy does not play like he is the same size as Pulisic man, get your head out of your arse.

They count for less because it disproves him.

I'd take Duece, Johannsson, and Wood over him in a heartbeat.

But he has regressed the past 3 years badly. Striker is still the weakest part of our player pool, even ahead of left back.

Do I think he can be more physical and assertive sometimes? Hell yes, but to say he plays like that is an outright lie

The Denmark goal was a good one. Can't deny that. That Iceland goal is pretty easy. Put through clean, all he had to do was lift the ball slightly.

The Jozy of today tries to be a dribbler beating people off the ball, when he should be running through them.
