The summer acquisitions were a big boost. Navas adds a dimension we were missing last year. Negredo has started well.
Navas does look bright and certainly is a big step up from Milner for width in the attacking third (even if I think Milner's a pretty useful player that probably catches undue grief because of his Obligatory Pretty Good English Player Outrageous Transfer Fee).
The team just looks much more fluid with Negredo over Dzeko (even though Dzeko is deadly with great service) just like it did with Tevez and Balotelli, the times he seemed to concentrate.
Pellegrini's Villarreal sides were a real pleasure and that he was a missed offfside call from the CL semifinals with that Malaga team is a remarkable feat.
He should have success in Europe eventually especially with all the Spanish/South American players he'll likely bring in.
Mancini's an above average manager but not great though he has had some success roster building. I think one thing that absolutely doomed him at City was that he kept striking out on getting the elite holding midfielder he needed for his style of play.

Negredo definitely fits Pellegrini's style better. The Aguero-Negredo tandem works very well. When Jovetic gets healthy i think he'll work better with Dzeko than the other two.

Reports are that Pantilimon gets the start tomorrow.
I think its the right call, if only to wake up Hart and bring him back in a couple weeks, but I'm worried.

I think it's great. MP wants to send a message and this is the way to do it. Pantilimon will be fine.
