Stu Holden on Nigel De Jong

Stu is way too classy and sexy and dreamy. frick Nigel De Jong's bitch arse.
quote:
"It’s almost fate, wasn’t it, that this was going to happen. Nigel and I actually had an opportunity [to talk] before the game, and full disclosure, he sought me out and made an apology for this challenge [from March 2010]. As you can see there, I had a grade-2 MCL sprain and a broken right fibula which almost put me out of the World Cup in 2010. Now I did rehab and get back, and I felt that that was a nasty challenge.
"And I also felt that the one today, on Darlington Nagbe, he comes over the ball. I came away from it feeling … He talked about being in a dark period in that part of his career. About the media was on his back. He was under a lot of pressure on the field and was making challenges. In my book, it’s no excuse for breaking legs. It’s no excuse for bad challenges. But I walked away from that feeling good.
"And I’m sitting here and now I’m seeing this challenge firs hand on Darlington Nagbe, and it makes me feel sick. Because I know what Darlington Nagbe is going through. We saw him sitting there. He had the towel over his head. We saw his body mannerism and that’s a man that knows he’s done something serious. I don’t want to speculate what it is, but I know it’s not good. And De Jong did go over and apologize, but there is absolutely no excuse for that type of challenge. We don’t need it in the game. It’s horrific. It’s horrible. And he’s going to get retroactive punishment."

How many dudes has this guy totally fricked over his career.
Stu was on track to be one of our best. I don't doubt that for a second.
Him and Bradley together would have been a beast pairing.
Such a damn shame.

Honestly wtf did the MLS expect to happen. Giving the Galaxy and Bruce the green light to get him.
He doesn't add anything of value other than destroying people in the midfield. Which is something the MLS or Central Americans leagues have no shortage of and at a much cheaper cost.
But the star child Galaxy get what ever they want. A much better DP could have been acquired by the league for the galaxy with way more star power.
The Galaxy also showed how classless of an organization they are by basically saying Nagbe made a meal of the foul. I love how the Timbers basically told them to frick off on twitter.

Wasn't De Jong wearing the captain's armband yesterday?

Not a DP (ETA: right now, anyway), and he looked pretty fricking solid last night outside of destroying Nagbe's ankle
My guess is that the Galaxy have a Dema Kovalenko sized hole in their heart

On De Jongs wikipedia page there's an entire section about how dirty he is.

Someone smarter than me needs to come up with another message board term for your caliber of douchebag. Troll just doesn't justify how bad you suck.

Can you quote what they said because I did not see this and tend to think you are making this up.
I saw Mike Magee talk to Stu and Mike said the challenge was unfortunate and you don't need that in the game.

@TimbersFC: Hey @LAGalaxy, last year this acct justified a RC on Ridgewell w/a pic of a bruise. Any pithy commentary on De Jong? Are you even surprised?
^^^This won the night.^^^
The bottom line is that this guy has consistently made horrific challenges throughout his career. Ben Arfa, Stu, Alonso, Nagbe, etc. He even almost destroyed Kimmich's leg in a friendly last year. It's not a matter of what his intentions are at this point. Whether he is malicious or not (I think he's a malicious player after watching him pull off a kick on Xabi Alonso that Jon Jones or Conor McGregor can only dream of) shouldn't even be a talking point. The issue is that he consistently makes poor challenges and there's no place for that level of maliciousness, carelessness or whatever you want to call it in the sport. With his record, he should be getting suspended double digit games for this sort of challenge. If he sits for several months, maybe then he'll learn to be more compassionate or less reckless when he goes in for a challenge. If you sit him for 2 games, he's not going to learn anything.
