They absolutely must buy some top class midfield talent in January. A destroyer, like many of you have said is most important but also they need more players that can change games and open teams up. Mata isn't good enough and Jose clearly just doesn't rate him. Rooney isn't Rooney anymore. He can't be a deep lying player and even as a #10 he's never at his best. He is and always was a striker and he simply doesn't have the physical tools and athleticism anymore to be an elite forward IMO. Herrera has been great, but he isn't good enough to play in the center of the park against the best teams. Pogba has been a disappointment but he will come good if put in the right spots with the right guys around him. What's happened to Mkhitaryan and Martial? Martial is on the cover of FIFA and can hardly get on the field Mkhitaryan is a fantastic player and he seems to be the type of hardworking winger that Mourinho loves. Rashford will no doubt be a good player. Young and Lingard are B players that can fill a role. Nothing more really. Simply put, United need more game changing players in midfield and maybe even at the striker position. Zlatan is still great but he can't do what he does best with what's around him. And TBH he's kinda starting to look old. They need more goal scorers.

ETA Fellaini is at the very top of my list of least enjoyable, most frustrating footballlers to watch in world football. Right there alongside Nani

I didn't think anything could be more satisfying than him getting fired by Chelsea.

I was wrong. Him getting fired by Man U will be waaay funnier.

If only Tottenham will do the deed next.

I said it when he was hired by Man Utd, that it was a horrible hire. And the price he's costing them in salary, LOL.

It felt like a reactionary hire to Pep. Mou has so much baggage around him now. United were a circus when LVG was there and then they hire Mou, sign Pogba and Ibra? It was asking for trouble.

It's basically over for him at the top clubs if he fails at united which I think he will fail.

Btw, seems like there are a bunch of "Einsteins" in this thread

ETA: For context, Mourinho's been hitting out at all the "Einsteins" who disagree with some of his decisions...

quote:

We had a bad week. I know that the world is full of Einsteins, I know that they tried to delete 16 years of my career, they tried to delete an unbelievable history of Manchester United football club and to focus on a bad week with three bad results. But that's the new football, it's full of Einsteins.

Mo is really starting to remind me of Les Miles

defensive-based philosophy with offensive issues (esp simplicity and lack of structure)

stubburn as all frick clinging to the philosophy that led to success in the past

playing games in the media constantly

The Miles meme is just a continuation of the larger meme about the coach who let the game pass him by. Hence why Wenger and now Mou are always compared to them.
