The agreement follows the announcement of the new deal to show even more live Premier League matches and further strengthens Sky’s position as the home of sport.

The four-year MLS deal begins in March, bringing an even wider range of coverage to Sky Sports viewers. With former England captain Steven Gerrard announcing he will sign for LA Galaxy in July, and Frank Lampard set to join New York City this summer, Sky Sports will be the only place to follow the fortunes of two Premier League legends in the US

great now we just need a league to show

Hopefully its live matches and not tap delay condensed versions like BT did in shite HD. Might be wishful thinking on the HD quality bc lots of MLS games use shitty cameras.

It's funny to me how big a deal camera quality is to you.

Like, I get it, american broadcasts aren't as crisp, but damn, I think you have more posts on this board about the cameras than you posts on something else.

well what's the point of having an HD tv if your picture quality is crap.

It is embarrassing espn does not use good cameras to broadcast soccer.

ive probably posted about it 4 or 5 times during MLS cup and national team matches.

I know SCH beats the "Sky Sports feed" horse to death, but as a guy who usually watches league matches in stretched SD (awaiting cheap Fox Bundesliga deal), picture quality for matches can't improve enough. It makes a great match even greater.

For some reason, I'm convinced those La Liga matches on BeIN HD look better than the NBCSN or Fox HD broadcasts.

Working in TV, it's tough to beat the few times we might get backhaul coordinates for a game, which I envision what the Sky feed is like. Cable/satellite companies often filter feeds, diminishing the clarity. For me, picture quality just seems to elevate a match to a higher level of (at least perceived) importance.

But yeah SCH, tone down the bragging about clean feeds and Augustiner bier

which is odd b/c BeIN based in Qatar

either way all those broadcast look way better than the MLS/ESPN USMNT product.

but anyway. Hopefully they show the matches live.

But i see alot of LA and NYCFC matches being shown on Sky

The announcement I saw said they will be live.
Those late west coast games make for an early morning.

The PL feeds aren't that good looking over here either, usually.

But that may have to do with how the cable companies are providing those. Plus the fact that televised anything in the UK usually looks shittier.

NBC is pretty good it's the same feed the rest of the world gets from England.

I'm talking about the actual cameras being used at the games

Are you talking about the ESPN feed in England that's crap? For me, ESPN and NBC are my favorite channels to watch sporting events because the picture quality is so great. The Premier League games shown on NBC/NBC Sports HD are crystal clear. The new equipment that Comcast Xfinity has started using is top notch for me here in Houston. The only complaint I have is that the HD version of BeIN is in Spanish most of the time.

This is pretty big news, I'd think. Surely MLS is getting a decent little check (not huge, but decent) and it'll create more fans in the UK (again, not many, but some). Advertisers will certainly like it.

I can see Seattle, NYCFC, LAG, and Orlando City getting a decent number of games.

Your EPL feed comes from England before nbc gets it. ESPN uses low quality cameras for their broadcasts with usmnt and MLS games regardless your provider. The full field view is pretty bad. Not the same type of cameras as nfl or college sports they use.
