Should Italy's 1934 and 1938 World Cup titles count or have an asterisk?

For whatever reason in 1934 and 1938 they went to a straight knockout tournament and got rid of the group stage from 1930. That's really a sham of a World Cup and much easier to go through and win than one where you have to fight through groups.
Plus they were Fascist Italy at the time so screw them.

This post would make sense if every other World Cup crowned their champion after the group stage or something.
How many teams advance to the knockout round after drawing all three matches? I'd say it's not many.
Italy didn't have to play in the groups in 34 and 38. That's one massive stage that can be difficult to get out of.
Those two world cups are shams.
