Sentenced to purchase a Bayern shirt

A Munich judge has sentenced two Munich 1860 fans to purchase a Bayern Munich shirt and other merchandise.
The curious sentence was offered as an alternative to spending 15 months in prison for assaulting a fan of their bitter rival's second team.
According to 'Bild', Judge Karin Jung opted for the peculiar punishment following the incidents which took place after a regional league match between Munich 1860's second team and cross-town neighbours Bayern.
The events took place in 2014, when the two attackers left a rival fan half naked in Munich station after tearing off his shirt and removing his club hat.
The judge, who is reported to be a Munich 1860 supporter, decided to give them the choice because, in her own words, the fans showed no remorse for their actions and refused to identify a third attacker who accompanied them. "I thought about what would be most painful for them", explained the magistrate.
The strategy worked. The attackers immediately apologised for their actions, paid their victim €500 in compensation and bought him a Bayern shirt, scarf and hat. The garments will be formally handed to him on Wednesday to close the case.

I really like this. Not because I'm a Bayern fan (i'm not), but that it actually did some good. Making the fans look like fools, while also replacing the victims gear.

Also saved the gov't the cost of imprisoning the guys for 15 months.
If I were the victim I would have probably would have preferred this to the guys being jailed anyways.
