Results of Game in Titles of Threads Other than Title of Gamethread

Honest question. I'm obviously a neophyte to this board, although not to soccer, and I'm absolutely cool with the no results in title of Gamethread rule. However, does having threads such as "America, frick Yeah," and "All we have to do is Draw (paraphrased)" on the board not defeat the purpose?

yes you are absolutely right. me and some of the other level headed soccer board posters have mentioned this numerous times.
for some reason, however, the scores in thread titles is like a really, really big deal to some people. but ruining the game outcome is not? im still not sure but yes that's how it is.

It is a valid rule when the USA is not playing. If you visit the board a USA game, then you will get it spoiled in some capacity.
The rule is mostly built for club season where games are early as shite on Saturday morning.

I find it absolutely pointless to discuss something that is just not going to change. We have had this rule for four years, we have Admin approval of it, and the vast majority of us like/understand the rule. It's not going to change, and everyone coming on here crying "put the score in the title" is either (a) useless or (b) trolling, and I don't want either of those to wreck the board.
We will try to accommodate posters who need hand-holding on everything, but we're not changing the rules for a one-month period that comes around every year or so (big US involved/Euro tourneys).

It's not about having the score in the title. It's about when somebody posts a different thread that might have "spoilers" in the title and then some people get so butthurt it's ridiculous. Such as the "Fastest goal in WC history" thread that got whacked earlier.
Why not just have a "USA Score Board" so that people that actually want to discuss the game freely are able to and then TN Bhoy and the 2 other people that get butthurt about spoilers can just stay off it. Seriously.

This thread is very much about the rule. Also, I didn't RA that thread and have no clue why it was whacked.
Actually, most of the threads the OP is talking about weren't really spoilers other than "The US did something good". We could have drawn really late on, etc., and the "points" one isn't much of a spoiler at all with how the table system works in group play.
And the no spoiler rule has already helped me, as I wasn't able to watch the CIV-JAP match until the next day.
