Mix at Celtic would be pretty sweet. I'd buy a shirt for sure.

I think Liga MX would be better for his development; better league, much better competition, a league that's predicated on pace and technique, a club who isn't ashamed to play American youths.

I'm a bit disappointed the Xolos move didn't pan out.

As a Celtic fan, I'm into it.

Also, Mix's biggest weakness is that he's seen as soft and that he can't defend. Celtic would cure that.

Scotland will teach Mix about hoofing it downfield and rivalries that no one really cares about.

I'm surprised TN Bhoy hasn't been in here yet to try and claim this is the best move for Mix to advance his career.

Even TNBhoy knows that's just not true.

More and more, I feel like signing these American players is an attempt to connect with the American market.

Green at Bayern = marketing
Gooch at Milan = marketing
This move = marketing

Bedoya to Nantes = soccer move
Kljestan to Anderlecht = soccer move

Bedoya didn't play consistently. He was injured a good bit--and that's the downside of this is that Mix might just suffer from injuries. But, it could teach him to be tough, to defend better, etc.

Personally, I would've preferred a move to France or the Netherlands. But this is good too.

Green wasn't about connecting to an American market really. He was a youth product.

This article is just rehashing the rumours from the summer. I don't fully believe it. I'd be happy if it happened (Mix plays a position that Celtic needs to strengthen), but I don't see it happening.

Things we know:

- Deila is Norwegian
- Mix plays in Norway
- Deila tried to sign Mix while at his former club
- Deila is friends with Mix's dad

This would be true if Mix was going to 'Well or Thistle or ICT, but it's not true of Celtic. Celtic under Deila is trying to play like Dortmund (Deila worked with Klopp and it's been rumoured that Deila is the heir apparent to Klopp at Dortmund). The problem is that Celtic don't have someone like Mix to break down defenses.

I also don't think Celtic would be the best move for Mix, but it does have advantages:

A. Better league and competition (anyone who disputes this is incredibly ignorant)
B. Better club resources
C. In the SPFL, Mix at Celtic would be playing the role he'd play for the US against weaker nations
D. In Europe, Mix at Celtic would be playing the role he'd play for the US against better nations
E. More media exposure
F. Silverware
G. It would definitely improve his toughness

yea celtic has been slashing its wages ever year since rangers got dropped and even worse when hearts and hibs got relegated.

yea those thursday nights in eastern europe will sure make him better

lol no one cares about Celtic. The SPL gets less tv coverage around the world now then 10 years ago.

F. Silverware

doesn't mean much when no one else can compete and Celtic has players whos wages are more than some of the first divisions clubs wage bill.
