And despite the incredible sums of money on offer, it would require some careful negotiation from Qatari diplomats to convince FIFA or UEFA to agree to its plans.

They´re doing what they need to do. The at large discretional invitations will be handed to sides from the gulf región, thus inviting investment in top flight players from abroad, and the further development of their kids.

What do you expect?

This won't do shite to MLS.

UEFA won't allow it, and managers will still take it only slightly more seriously as the Emirates Cup or the Herbalife World Football Classic.

MLS is already trying to get away from the retirement league model.

Most of the most recent DP signings have been Latin American guys in their late 20s. New York and LA will still go after the Kakas and Lampards of the world, but they have to do this in order to make noise in their overcrowded sports markets.

I can't read the article for some reason, I'm still not quite sure what it is. Everyone's comments are all over the place

These, and younger, will be swayed.

They will fuel the overall general uptick in level of play, while their younguns develop.

No, Europe will always be Europe. It may hasten the fruition of the European Super League, however.

Yea lets just give the best x amount of teams in the top leagues £150m to continue to separate themselves from the peasants.

Better yet, lets give rich men more incentive to buy a club for their own profit.
