I'm looking for a place to play in the loop. Don't want to drive to Katy or a suburb to play. Unfortunately the indoor place near Washington is leagues only and I can't commit right now to that stuff. Anyone know of anything?

Ive heard they play pick up games at Rice pretty regularly. Id head over there and see. Maybe google it and see if you can find info. Also Memorial park may have some as well.

Rice has a decent game. Gets crowded and they lock you out when they hit an arbitrary number of players. A few guys try to run shite but ignore them. Every so often rice kicks everyone out but go back the next day. Also if the fields by the pool are closed walk past the music building to the old field house. Finally, if you need to drop a deuce before playing the music building is open and has decent toilets.

A few years ago there was a Mexican guy there who was amazing. Hurt his knee and put on a lot of weight but you can still see the skills. A few of the Dynamo academy players used to show up occasionally and they were damn good.

Also university of Houston has a game I just never wanted to drive that far and didn't are for it the few times I went. Memorial park has a game but I can't tell you when r exactly where as I've never gone.

Main Street Soccer is another indoor option inside The Loop. They usually advertise pickup games on Meetup.com.

Did you ever make it out to rice? I used to be there religiously but first one kid then another then another and now live in dfw. But used to really enjoy the games there.
