Seen a few threads pop up and will expect more esp when the USMNT is playing so lets keep it all in one thread. The SB and its posters are a very diverse group from all of the country.

So post what city you have the know how on where to watch WC games.

It's supposed to be in the How to Survive thread.

Mine are already on there.

Washington DC Area

The DC AO will be having their watch parties at the Laughing Man right in the middle of DC. Ive never been there b/c when I was living in the area the AO chapter was watching games in a much more hole in the wall type place off the beaten path.

Next is the German Biergartenhaus in NE. Place was awesome in 2010 and will have all the games on with of course good German beer.

My personal favorite and one of the best soccer bars in the country is Summers in Arlington, VA.

All this place does is cater to soccer. Id guess you would call it an unofficial watch party bar b/c Northern VA doesn't have an AO chapter.

If anyone by chance is in the Ramstein area the AO Kaiserslautern (not official yet) Chapter will have game watches at the Blarney Stone.

Fado - Philly - Located in the center of the city, it's a plastic-paddy pub (there is one in Atlanta and a couple more throughout the US) that is by-far the best "soccer pub" in Philadelphia. Great bartenders, numerous screens, and a large ex-pat community from every country in the Cup.

Plough and the Stars - Philly - Located in the prettier part of downtown Philly, The Plough is an authentic Irish pub that also has a bad-arse chef. It's also the place to go in Philly if you want to watch the Cup with less annoying hipsters and less of a crowd (they only started showing matches for non-"Ploughboys" after my recommendation, so it's less well known as a soccer pub). This is also the pub responsible for Magner's sponsorship of Celtic (I can tell the story if you want). The best bartender is Johnjoe, a Scottish ex-pat who will welcome you with a smile, a sectarian song, and a barrage of cherries from across the room.

Fiddler's - South Bend, IN - A plastic-paddy pub in Notre-Dame land that most people don't know about. Food is good, nice screens, and few annoying hipsters/Notre Dame students.

Y Mochyn Du - Cardiff, Wales - Located on the river Taff, this pub is the place I'll be watching most matches. Good kitchen and it has an arrangement with some of the best breweries in Wales (along with Brains). Indoor and outdoor seating with screens in all areas.

St. George - Swansea, Wales - Located in the Uplands section of Swansea, this is where I'll be watching if not at home, Y Mochyn Du, or forced to be at one of the crappier places. By far the best kitchen of the Swansea pubs.

Time Out kind of pricey but a good sports bar

Avoid the Irish pub in Destin

AO Chapters and Home Bars

This should answer anyone's question about where to watch.

The problem with AO is that they sometimes pick terrible bars. For example, Philly's used a terrible dive in King of Prussia until Fado convinced them to move last fall.

The AO bars in Birmingham and Huntsville are in brewery tap rooms. Great places to watch a game. The one in Montgomery is one of my favorite places in the city.

To add on to Birmingham:

Dave's Pub will also be showing games and apparently has free burgers and hot dogs during US matches.

Iron City is showing all the games too on a 240 SF projector so should be good views all around.

World of Beer is showing all games with beer specials based on the countries participating in the ongoing game.

Pelham Hooters is also a watch location.

I think me and my buddy are going to try and make it over to good people on Sunday 6/22 for the Portugal game...never been there before and it will probably be packed...if so I'll go enjoy some eye candy with my soccer
