Zero chance Cou goes. Zero. Liverpool would devolve into 28 Days Later level anarchy with rampant rape and pillage. The city would burn to the ground.

There's no way Cou goes. He just signed a new contract, it would probably take £60M plus for him to leave. If they are really saying an LFC player would go on loan the other way, and it would be considered a surprise, I would say markovic. Barca may need a winger/forward if they sell Pedro and they were supposedly interested in him before we signed him. I still find it unlikely though

* so the rumor goes. Barcelona won't entertain a bid for traore without Couthino being involved
What I read over the weekend was more along the lines of, Barca would have the first option to buy Coutinho if/when we sell... no date or price mentioned..
Don't even know if thats true... Traore is a kid, he doesn't command that kind of bargaining power..

With Gomez and lovren looking like they are starting Sunday , is anyone else pretty worried? We have arguably our most fragile defender next to a teenager making his first premier league appearance, all on opening day on the road in a tough place to play. Oh and where we happened to get crushed to. Lose last season.
I'm sure Gomez has looked great -he had in the limited stuff I've been able to watch - but the Malaysia. All stars is a far cry from stoke.
It's amazing to me that we don't have a better situation for our starting XI.

Ian Ayre: We've achieved all our objectives in the transfer market this summer

Tell me it was a sterling city kit. I'd like to believe this guy is total douche.

More so about Lovren than Gomez... Gomez looks like he'll be solid defensively, though I don't think he'll contribute a lot to the attack...
Maybe BR will have Clyne pushing further up while Joe stays back..

Lovren over Sakho. I don't get that. At all.
Posted on 8/4/15 at 12:50 pm to Meursault
It's simple really. Rodgers is an egotistical maniac and Lovren's his boy.

Loren over Sakho is all the proof I need that Rodgers is as big an a-hole as I thought he was. Let's hope that Lovren pulls it out his arse, if not I'd love to push our manager's shiny new teeth into the back of his grape. I honestly can't believe he is really going to do this.

Sturridge shooting for a return for the man united game. Would love to have him one field, but would rather they take their time with him.
Gomez has played well but it's still a big risk for the first game of the year.
One big difference is that n'zoni is gone for stoke and he ran that midfield against us last year. Plus it appears that shawncross could be out for the game too.
I'm expecting
Migs
Clyne. Skyrtel lovren Gomez
Hendo and Milner
Cou
Ibe. Bentenke. Lallana
I would worry about the counter etc - especially down the side with lovren and Gomez. There is a big hole where a Dm should be. But that lineup should generate some good chances for us and has the potential to keep the midfield to our advantage.

I can't wait for Sunday
Sturridge returning early is good news, I do wonder though...if we start out on a tear in August and find a formation and lineup that's working, do we really want to risk messing that up even with a guy as talented as Sturridge?
Ideally for me we could find a way to get Benteke, Sturridge, and Firmino up top...but you have to find a place for Couthino.
That leaves 2 or 3 spots for Henderson, Ibe, Lallana, and Milner. I guess it's a good problem to have but I'm very curious how we're going to make it work, and I'm afraid it'll take some time to figure out the best 11

Sturridge is 1st team regardless. Cmon man. And Firminio will start over Lallana I think.
The competition for spots is going to be awesome. I just hope Brendan plays the best man instead of his ego mania only my signings BS.
But we know he probably won't.
