Sterling's agent is a child.

Here's the thing... Sterling has 2 years left on his current deal. Liverpool should not feel obligated to sell this summer. If he truly does not want to be here for 2015, then loan him out to a championship club. Maybe by then clubs will be willing to pay the £50m pricetag that Liverpool value him at.

EDIT: new reports are saying Liverpool have cancelled meetings with Aidy in light of his recent comments. Good call, IMO. It would just be a waste of time.

Part of me says keep his arse on the bench with the £35k per week he makes now and show him that this isn't how you be a professional.

But then I'm also just tired of this shite and just want us to get rid of him for a good price. And most of us see that he's not nearly as ready for this step as he thinks he is.

It's so hard to discern whats believable or not, given the nature of the British tabloids..

Wherever the truth lies, this has been a disaster for Raheem, PR wise, and not much better for the club...

Like I said before, I can go either way with him... If someone offers us our valuation and we sell, fine... he could help finance some of our needs (assuming we don't frick that up)... If he decides to re-up, great!

I guess worst case is he goes into the next season without a new contract and is still determined to leave... In which case, I hope he does like Suarez and blows up on the pitch and we get maximum £ for him... Or we could pull a BvB-Lewandowski and let him leave for free after two years, refusing to sell. But at £30,000/wk, he's leaving a ton of £ on the table over the course of 2 years ( so, it would be in his best interest to re-up with a buy-out clause, knowing he's leaving and maximizing his transfer fee to us).

Just don't sell cheap, if you don't get the money tell him next year is his audition. If he pouts or sulks then let Henderson and Skyrtel deal with him.

Therein lies the rub... I don't know if anyone will offer what we value him at.. Im guessing the high end bids would likely be in the £30-35mm range

That's a whole other nut... Some club could pay him whatever he wants, as long as we get our £.. Which may be a significant number, since QPR is owed some of that, as well..

Which is absurd but will only happen if he goes to City. If he goes abroad no where near that.

His count agent has already said it will be in England.

Just frick him off to City, I want to be done with it. He hasn't done shite for months and he better rot on the bench for the Stoke game.

Guys he has to go. The damage is way too far done. The fans are heckling him, the media (including our own former players) are shitting on him, his performance have gone to hell, and is agent (who is apparently calling all the shots it seems like) is a complete jackass. Now, given that, you sell him now while his value is the highest and we can use the funds for proven talent. We are probably looking at getting 25-35m for him now, and that will only go down the more this shitstorm drags on. Just my thoughts

Nah. He can come back from this. Remember the Suarez saga of 2013? All the shite he (Suarez) said himself to the media about Rodgers. Calling him a liar, etc. He really wanted that move to Arsenal. But eventually they made up, he stayed at LFC for another year, scored a ton of goals, and we almost won the league.

Remember, this is Sterling's agent saying all this shite.

Anyway, FSG holds all the cards. They can keep Sterling on the bench for 2 years and continue to pay him £30k/wk for all I care. They likely won't sell unless it's around £40-£50. And they certainly won't sell to Utd.

I agree, if he ends up staying and performs on the pitch next year, all will be forgotten...

I mean, even Stevie got battered when he flirted with Chelsea in '04... death threats from gangsters and what not...

Glad to see Ibe officially sign a five year extension... I think he has all the raw tools to be better than Sterling. Though It's be nice to have both on the flanks for the foreseeable future...

Anyway, official end of an era on Sunday... Stevie's last match... Jones and Johnson, too.. Maybe even Raheems, I hope all our fans act accordingly and respectful.. I assume he'll get some shite from the Stoke supporters..

Just my humble opinion, but I say keep sterling in at 35 k a week. Stick him on the reserve practice squad if he sulks.

The only way we should sell him domestically is for at least 45m pounds.

We are saving 6 m in wages over the next two yearsfrom what we offered or planned for. We will get 5 or so million since he's a young player if he leaves on a free. Plus if he stays, there is the chance we can change his mind through our qualifying for champions league next season.

Plus I don't want to help a rival for top 4 or send a message that we are an English feeder club for the real big four.

Eta - let's also remember this - there is a lot of posturing going on. The more we make it look like we are willing to keep sterling and make him okay it out, the more city will have to pay if they want him. Clearly sterling agent is trying to salt the field so bad that he has to move on.

My issue with that is, at the end of the year, he now only has one year left on his deal and his selling price goes down if we end up selling... That's why I'd try to lock him in to a deal, with a buyout, with both parties knowing he's leaving (like we did with Luis)...

In theory, I like the stance... It just does the club no good to have this circus continue in to next season... but I don't think many clubs have the stones to do what BvB did with Lewandowski... Refusing to sell to Bayern and letting him run down his contract and leave for free.

If nothing else, I think FSG have proven they are willing to play hard ball... The Sterling camp saw that last summer and are clearly deluded if they think he is valued more than Luis was. Maybe he'll bite someone on Sunday to expedite his move

I fully expect him to miss a sitter on purpose - the problem is we will never know it was on purpose.

Lallana is playing like arse. Terrible passing.

ETA: Apparently the entire team tried to see how bad they can pass the ball for the week. Only Gerrard missed the drill.
