I haven't bought cleats since my Predators in 2006. They could probably hold up another season or two, but they'll need to get replaced eventually.

Money not an issue, what's the best out there currently? Surely over the past 8 years, the technology on cleats has changed, right? I want something light, and that's going to give me good control...FG.

Thoughts?

Do you generally go for Adidas? Or do you like Nike as well?

Generally Adidas, but I've been very interested in Nike's technology they are doing with their cleats. They appear to be pretty light. So, I'm open to whatever.

I generally go Adidas too. My adiPures are probably my favorite pair I've ever owned. They're almost done for so I went and tried some new ones on the other day. The new Predators were NICE. As far as Nike, it was definitely a different feel trying them on after wearing Adidas for years. I liked the Hypervenoms the most. The Magistas were definitely light as a feather, but not for me.

If you're an Adidas guy, you couldn't go wrong with adiPure/Copa. Definitely a little cheaper too. But I would definitely say try and get your hands on some of the new Nikes. Nike is making me think about changing when I purchase my next pair.

I tend to flip flop between adidas and nike and currently I wear Nike Premieres. They are extremely comfortable and mold to your foot with time. They are made out of kangaroo leather and are light. Only cost around $100.

Where are you going to try all these on? Does Third Coast have all of these? Appreciate the info.

Third Coast should have all of those. The store in New Orleans always seems to have limited number of sizes of each style, but from what I understand the BR store keeps a much larger inventory.

Nike Premier if you're a leather guy. 100% kangaroo leather. Light. Thin. $100. Can't beat it.

Nike doesn't make elites anymore. The new Tiempos are good though.
