Thoughts? I worry about his playing time and development. I would prefer he be starting somewhere consistently, rather than be just another Chelsea loanee.

Do not like.

Hopefully with Mourinho gone they start to limit the amount of loanees. Only hope.

I am worried about the move because gus is a caretaker for the season.

Well, at least with a new manager coming in, it'll be a clean slate for him to try and compete. I'm sure he'll get loaned out.

He'll get loaned out and likely never play for Chelsea. Our loan policy is not a Jose thing it's something the club has been doing for years.

Which is why I think this is a terrible career move. He's had only one half season as a full professional. He needs first team playing time somewhere.

Yea I don't know why we keep doing this and I don't why young talent keeps thinking they'll somehow be any different.

Another American signed by a midtable EPL team. Woohoo!

Eh, he has a chance in a couple of years. Terry eventually is done and that leaves Cahill and Zouma. We need depth on the first team at CB and he should get play in the Cups and occasional midweek games.

I don't like it overall for his career but the decision makes sense for Chelsea.

Chelsea does it because it's a smart investment. They buy up young players with potential and then loan them out for a couple of years and then they're ready for first team or they sell them for profit most of the time

He might get minutes at Chelsea if the reports of player mutinies, and every one wanting out are true.

Chelsea reportedly only paying €5M.

Absolute steal for that price.

He won't play. Do not want him to stunt his growth.

That being said, he might actually help our back four right now

I don't like it when clubs without managerial stability buy youth players.
