Besler had offers on the table from English clubs Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City, as well as Belgian side Gent, but ultimately decided to stay with his hometown team, where he has spent the past four seasons.

I don't much about this guy other than what I've read on here. Is he one that yall think will be either in the starting 11 or close to it for WC2014?

This would be like going to play football at McNeese State over Ole Miss.

He must love the shite out of kc cause that's a pretty strange thing to do. Either that or he thinks he can do better.

SKC is Besler's hometown club and he's probably not quite ready for the EPL. Granted QPR are terrible, they have a decent set of defenders already. Gent in Beligum is a mid-table club, so he would almost be dropping a bit in class compared to SKC. Moving to Championship side notorious for shitty football like Birmingham might sidetrack his career.
The more likely scenario is to continue plying his trade in MLS and waiting for a better transfer offer to emerge.
Also having a hometown kid win defender of the year is a huge marketing boost for both Besler and SKC. MLS is openly yearning for more "role model" American players developed in the league.
