Its not his fault Inter has been managed like a 7 year old playing FIFA who doesn't know what they are doing.

They did finish pretty poorly. That Juve, Roma and Napoli all finished running made Inter's finish look even worse.

In fairness, finishing fourth in the table really seems about right though as they simply weren't as good as Napoli or Roma, once both started playing up to form.

Expectations likely soared a bit too high due to Inter's climb to the top of the table a couple of months into the season.

However, even at that high point, Inter hadn't really looked all that impressive and they were still lagging very far behind Juve, Roma and Napoli in goal differential and that usually evens out a bit with "points" as the season progresses.

That said, rumors have constantly been floating around since last summer that Mancini and ownership were constantly clashing on transfer decisions.

That Mancini is leaving in the middle of the summer seems to suggest that may have finally just come to a breaking point.

They really were overachieving a bit

They should have sacked him the second he was dicked 3-0 in 2 derbies within 5 days of each other.

Should have been gone at this point, was a laughing stock across the country after this and the Sarri drama he started in a pathetic attempt to unsettle them. But now they've waited way too long, blown most of their transfer budget on Candreva for him, and now have a manager who has no experience with serie a, only 2 weeks to get to know his squad, and no funds to bring in any players he may deem necessary for his style.

now where have I heard that before....

I think he's a solid manager. I love what he did with City. We never lacked defensively when he was with the club. That being said, once we got Pellers I realized just how much shite was always stirring with Mancini. He seemed to be a solid x's and o's guy with little skill in 'managing' the club.

ETA: His celebration after AGUEROOOOOOOOOOOOO is one of the funniest/greatest reactions I've ever seen from a manager. He's on the line with his coat and scarf...hair just sitting there being glorious. Then BAM, Kun puts it in. Mancini loses his mind and starts sprinting. Then he's like, "oh shite, I'm supposed to be professional and shite. Better react more professionally." He then keeps running, but puts that one hand in his pocket. It was like a mullet took human form, business and party.
