Indeed a fun game to watch. With that being said, Zaba and Kolarov(will always scare me as a CB) were disappointing. I have no doubts that we win with Stones in

what in the hell was the logic in not starting stones?

I think Pep figured the midfield would keep the ball, meaning Kolarov's passing would be more important that Stone's defending. He was obviously so very, very wrong.

Silva needs to chill with the holding onto the ball. He got caught several times. He isn't the only one, Nolito sat on the ball a couple times I saw. They need to just make a freaking decision and keep the ball moving. Instead they sit there thinking. Nobody moves. The defense gets in perfect position, and our attack is dead at best, or at worst its a turnover.

I miss KDB already. Sterling is still awesome.

Ok. It's time.

Also, it seems like KDB is pretty much the glue that holds this team together.

Fair enough.

Today was rough. I'm just not going to talk about it.

I've been beating this drum for awhile. As far as I'm concerned KDB is City's best player, and I'm not really sure it's as close as some think. He has an innate ability to turn possession into attack.

I honestly think he's the best player in the entire league.

Not too bad, he's on the bench today.

Playing 3 in the back with KDB, Sane, Sterling, and Silva behind Nacho

Lol this lineup scares me. Not much defending at all.

Dinho is back there to help out.

I've wanted to see this for a while.

See all of my previous "frick Bravo, I miss Hart" posts. Pep is looking like a dumbass with this move. He's been dogshit since day 1.

lol give me a break.

You talk about Joe Hart as if he didn't get bench in favor of Pantilimon. Costel freaking Pantilimon.

I didn't get to watch the second half, but I was pretty happy with most of the first half. The team obviously has a lot to improve, but I'm actually okay with how they played. The topline results were obviously terrible, but it happens. I think the process is improving, and imo that's all that matters.

Word is, is that Pep wanted another midfielder to help hold possession. I'd assume it also didn't help that Aguero's form as of late has been shite.

insane. to me, if aguero is healthy he needs to be on the pitch. he's probably one of the top 10 players in the world, so its baffling to me that he'd be left out because of his form.

oh well, in pep we trust.

Look. We lost 4-0 and that sucks. And some might think I'm delusional, but we didn't lose 4-0 because Aguero didn't play. Fernandinho slipped. Bravo made a choice, and it didn't work out. Gundogan made a mistake. The team plan was working and working well. It was individual errors from various players that cost us, and against a team like Barca you can't make mistakes.

There were large portions of the first 55-60m where City looked on par or better than Barca. They could have easily have been up 2-1 going into half time if any of Nolito, Gundogan or Stones take their chances. Also there was the possible handball on the Sterling cross. And could have been up 2-0 if Fernandinho doesn't slip.

I'm not going to sit here and say we would have been better or worse with Aguero in the side, but the team plan Pep set out was absolutely working.

i don't doubt that, but i still think it is insane to make the "tactical decision" to remove the most prolific goalscorer in the league from your starting 11. it feels too cute.
