It was originally thought that the injury was a left foot strain, however, the medical team of U.S. Soccer and LA Galaxy, headed by foot and ankle specialist Dr. Rachel Triche, determined that Lletget will require surgery next week when the swelling comes down.
Lletget will be sidelined for the next 4-6 months.

They are calling this a Lisfranc fracture.
**CSB warning**
The mechanism of injury was incredibly classic, the way that his foot kind of flipped underneath him as he tripped. It's basically a dislocation or fracture at the tarso-metatarsal junction. It's often seen in runners who trip on their foot moving forward. I kid y'all not, my first thought when I saw him go down was, "Oh shite, I hope that's not a Lisfranc."
Lisfranc, the French doctor who first identified this injury, is buried at Montparnasse. His tomb shows him with an amputated foot
