You know, maybe its my being brought up with an american sports mentality, but I think a lot of the england based fans are delusional...
Some of the stuff they see and say, are almost polar opposite of my view point...
Bottom line, nobody (owner) is going to reach in to their own pockets, unless they are extremely flush with oil money... They have to run it as a business or it will go under... Or maybe there's a born and bred Red out there with extra billions to burn...
In regards to the coaching, after 3/4 of a season, if people cant see the progress... they're idiots..

Pretty good list. I would have Fernando Torres as #1 and Kaka as top 5. At least Carroll has 5-8 more years to make an impact in the league. I would have also found a way to put Ibra to Barcelona and Mutu to Chelsea on there. Mutu was like 34 when he was bought, only played a season at the Bridge, barely scored any goals and failed a cocaine test while there.
Liverpool have had some shite signings that's for sure.
Aquilani was a good player. Unfortunately for him, he was a Rafa player and Rafa was fired less than a year after he joined LFC. His LFC career was over at that point.

Yeah, Aqua played well for us when he was over his initial injury... Unfortunately, he was loaned out two straight seasons then sold...
So, in regards of ROI, he was a bust, but not as a player... IMO
