Ok so we all have opinions on the overall state of the teams and the game to game performance, but I'm curious what everyone thinks about the stock of the players and coach after these 6 games. Here's how I see it.

Stock up:
Brooks
Johnson
Cameron
Jones
Dempsey
Wood
Pulisic
Besler
Zardes

Stock down:
Beckerman
Wondo
Orozco
Guzan
Bradley

Everyone else either didn't move the needle in either direction or didn't get a chance to play. I also think some guys that didn't make the 23 might have moved up simply by not being human disasters like Wondo or beckerman, but that's not how jurgen tends to think. I honestly don't know whether Jurgen's stock went up or down considering his achievements in this tournament were mostly tied to making the obvious decisions, and he sucked absolute dick with subbing and replacing the yellow card suspended players.

Stock up: Woods, Cameron, Brooks, Zardes, Pulisic. Stock the same: Jones, Belser, Dempsey, Johnson, Guzan, Zusi Down: Bradley, Beckerman. Never again: Orcozco, Wondo. ETA: Zusi

Wood had to be the clear winner. Brooks is 2nd only undone by the Arg performance (although everyone sucked vs Arg).

Jazzy overperformed if you don't expect decisive quality touches in the final 3rd.

Down for me is Bradley - he is a poor captain and he seems to have lost his swagger.

I'd add beckerman to "never ever" simply because he's ancient. I put dempsey and jones in stock up because they reasserted themselves as absolutely essential members of the team. Jones was a damn titan and we looked horrible without him

I agree with everything the first two posters said.

In this last game particularly I think Howard and Cameron really showed something as far as fire. Think Howard needs to be the number one again, and Cameron should get a look for captain

Friend and I were discussing cameron as a captain after the Colombia game. He's locked up a spot, he plays in the team's spine, and he doesn't take shite from anyone.

Guzan looked good. Not sure why his stock is down.

. The only reason why I didn't put them on stock up is because they are already two of our best players going into the tournament. while they preformed really good, I expect them to be the top preformed.

Guzan just never looks as commanding as Howard. I used to think all the yelling howard did at his backline was over the top, but sometimes you have to tell orozco to get back in his motherfricking spot

Yeah. IDK how you can say his stock is down. I don't know if he definitively proved he's better than Timmy (I honestly think it's sort of a pick 'em with Timmy's decline), but he wasn't bad this tournament. He had one goal that was soft to give up, and even then it was really poor defending. He got caught out of position, partially because it looked like Lavezzi was going to head back across goal.

Agreed Guzan is fine - he looked stupid on the 1st goal vs Argentina, but oh well. Up until the Arg game everyone was basically saying he good he had been so far.

Bradley needs to get his shite together. He used to be able to carry the team and now at times he makes too many mistakes, bad passes, diving in, etc. that hurt more than help. That said, I know he plays better in his natural position. It would be nice if he could consistently play the six or eight position for club and country. Establishing a consistent position for Bradley with consistent starters around him would be good for Bradley and the team. His level has dropped since his return to the states and especially as a die hard Bradley fan I've found it very disappointing. I think a Bradley, Jones, Nagbe triangle in the middle would be great for us, but then it's hard to find a proper position for Clint since I don't think he's very suited to a solo forward role.

After the warmup games, some people were questioning whether or not dempsey could really play in that formation without slowing the offense down. Even the best expectations wouldn't have predicted him playing this well, it's not like he was crushing it for the sounders
I'm probably being harsh on Guzan, I just feel more comfortable with Howard.

Guzan is weak. He's indecisive and doesn't look like a leader out there. He could've done better on 4 of the 6 goals he conceded in this tournament. Were any his fault? No. But he's just not solid

Maybe I'm just being harsh, we'll see bc I'm sure he'll get more chances. But I'm souring on him and Bradley, and I felt more secure when Howard was between the posts.

Someone mentioned Zusi as stock down and I kind of agree, but I feel like it's good to bring a guy like that along in a 23 man roster. Just 1 guy like that though, not 10 like in this craptastic roster

Morris: stock up, because no logical person will ever call Wondo up again...

In a similar way, I think Altidore's has gone down due to bobby wood playing his absolute arse off

. Sorry. Fat thumbs and down voted, but agree 100%. Altidore was the most nervous person watching the USMNT. if he's not feeling the pressure, then he's a fool. ETA: I'm positive that the two can play together, but that leaves Dempsey odd man out. I also have zero faith that Klinnsmann will use them properly.

Altidore may score 50 international goals with very few of them ever coming in major tournaments after like 2011. It's so unfortunate
